About Us


The School Community
Crooms Academy of Information Technology, located in the city of Sanford,
Florida, is Seminole County Public School’s only dedicated magnet high school.
All students who reside in Seminole County and have successfully completed
the 8th grade may apply for admission. Students must submit the High School
Magnet Program Application through the SCPS Choices Department and be
chosen in the random selection process. The size of the campus allows for the
capacity of approximately 600 students. The composition of the student
population is 54% White, 25% Hispanic, 13% African American, 2% Multiracial,
5% Asian, 0.5% American Indian, and 0.5% Pacific Islander.
The school offers a well‐rounded high school experience with a rigorous
academic program and technology focused coursework in the areas of
multimedia design technology, computer programming, and network systems
technology. Crooms’ students benefit from a small school environment and
individualized attention, and opportunities to earn college credits through the
Early College program at Seminole State College of Florida, Advanced
Placement coursework, and Career Pathways. In partnership with Seminole
State College of Florida, Crooms Academy of IT offers a pathway allowing
students to earn the Associate of Arts degree in Information Technology while
earning their high school diploma.

Crooms Academy of Information Technology has three administrators, two
guidance counselors, a careers specialist, a technology facilitator, two network
specialists, an integrated learning specialist, an instructional coach, a media
specialist, and 36 certified teachers. Over 60% percent of the staff holds
advanced degrees and our full‐time teachers and administrators have an
average of over 16 years of experience. Our student to teacher ratio is 17:1
