June 07, 2021

Crooms AOIT Families! We certainly hope this message finds you safe and healthy. While we eagerly await the full return of our students to campus this fall, we certainly hope your families can enjoy your time together this summer. In the meantime, here are a few updates to keep you informed. As all of you know, Crooms AOIT is a uniform school. We attached the uniform policy poster here for your benefit to help prepare for the year ahead. There are two ways to purchase uniform shirts mentioned below. Student Uniform Ordering: Our uniform manufacturer, Risse Brothers is open for business online at and in their Maitland store at 100 Candace Drive, Suite 120. Gently Used Uniform Shirts: Our PTSA will be on campus during schedule and laptop pick up to sell gently used and discounted Crooms uniforms! We also encourage each of you to purchase your PTSA membership at that time as well. Laptop and Schedule Pick Up: July 29th There are two laptop pick up sessions, and your family can select the session that works best for you. A parent or guardian is required to pick up and sign for the laptop. Session 1: July 29th 8:30 am to 11:30 am Session 2: July 29th 12:30 pm to 4:30 pm If your family is unable to pick up your students’ laptop on July 29th, please email Ms. Benton at to schedule an appointment on the laptop pickup makeup day on August 10th, the first day of student attendance. Online Laptop Parent Training The laptop training is REQUIRED PRIOR to picking up the laptop. The training not only includes information you need to know regarding use of the school issued laptop but also includes fields for student emergency information and acknowledgement of the SCPS Student Conduct and Discipline Code. This saves you from having to fill out and return these cards during the hectic first week of school! Please access the REQUIRED Online Laptop Parent Training here: AVAILABLE JULY 12th: Technology Fee and Laptop Insurance Payment Method It is required to use MySchoolBucks® to pay Laptop Insurance and Technology Fees in advance of the laptop pick up. If your student attended school within SCPS last year, you may use the same MySchoolBucks® account used for school lunches. Enrollment in MySchoolBucks® is easy for families new to SCPS. Use the link below and select “Sign up today!” with your child’s name and student ID number to register. Laptop Insurance covers replacement of the laptop in the case of loss or irreparable damage with a $100 deductible rather than the full cost of the laptop at $1,500. The Technology User Fee assists our academy in covering the cost of replacement parts for laptops as well as the software licensing fees for the vast programs imaged to our student laptops. The fee schedule is as follows: Laptop Insurance: $10, Technology User Fee: $40 Click here to pay for Laptop Insurance and Technology User Fees Starting JULY 12! Login then select “School Store ? Categories ? Student Fees” If you do not know your student’s ID number, please request that information from Mary Benton: PE Uniform Shirts, July 29th: PE uniform shirts will also be available for purchase starting JULY 12th at MySchoolBucks® and ready for pick up July 29th at laptop and schedule pick up. Login to MySchoolBucks® then select “School Store ? Categories ? Student Fees” Transportation We are incredibly thankful school bus transportation is provided for our students regardless of where your family lives in Seminole County. We know most of our students will take advantage of this opportunity. At this time, we do not know route numbers or bus stops, however representatives from the Transportation Department will be on campus to answer your questions on July 29th. Skyward Family Access Current SCPS families can check Skyward Family Access to check their current address, email, and phone numbers. You can edit this information anytime. Having valid information in Skyward ensures you will always be kept up to date. Please contact Mary Benton at if you need help establishing Skyward Family Access. If You Move Over Summer Please email our registrar, Dawn Vega ( to determine your next steps. First Day of School, Tuesday, August 10th: The first day is an “orange” block day, so students will go to their 1st, 3rd, 5th, and 7th period classes. Wednesday is an early release “maroon” day, and students will attend periods 2nd, 4th, 6th, and 8th (Homeroom). New Bell and Block Schedule The new bell and block schedule is attached. Virtual Open House, 6:00 pm Thursday, August 26th One of the great innovations learned during the last year is that a virtual open house event is far more efficient for parents and sparks greater participation! Instead of taking valuable time walking your student’s schedule here on campus, you will navigate to your student’s classes via their teacher’s WebEx rooms. More details to come but for now mark your calendars! That’s all for now, Panthers! We will keep you posted throughout the summer. In the meantime, stay safe and well!
